LET’S CONNECT…

Your Questions Are Answered!

  • Yes, if you are interested in becoming a new client, please use my contact form to reach out!

  • Individual sessions typically range in length from 50-55 minutes.

  • Most people will begin their counseling journey with weekly or bi-weekly sessions. We start off with more frequent sessions because 1) it helps us get to know each other more quickly and 2) it allows you to gain momentum towards your goals more rapidly. The long term goal is for you to feel like you can navigate life independently without my assistance so typically sessions will become more and more spaced out over time.

  • I offer in person sessions at my office in Augusta, GA. I also offer telehealth if this is your preference; however, please note, for telehealth I am only licensed to provide this service if you are physically located in the states of Georgia or South Carolina at the time of our session.

  • This is entirely up to you. Some people will see the progress they want in a matter of months while others may require a longer period to reach their goals. Sometimes people choose to remain in counseling even after their immediate goals have been met because they find that it helps hold them accountable for maintaining their mental health as a priority and keeps a system in place where they are actively checking in with themselves.

  • I am a counselor which means my training is more focused in the wellness model instead of the more traditional medical model approach to therapy. Using a wellness perspective, counselors are able to focus on the person first rather than a diagnosis. This helps us to focus on your strengths and find ways to use those strengths to help with your challenges rather than only focusing on your symptoms. A therapist is a more generic term that could refer to any professional that is providing therapy including a counselor, social worker, or psychologist.

  • My clients are often deeply introspective, growth oriented, and willing to dive deep within themselves because they want to see real changes in their lives even when this process feels uncomfortable. Digging into the deepest parts of our psyche/subsconscious (i.e., where our monsters live) isn’t necessarily a fun process; however, making peace with what lies there is the only way we can experience true healing, growth, and expansion. The benefit of working with a counselor is that you don’t have to dig through the darkest places alone, you will be supported and guided throughout the entire process.  I frequently work with clients who are secular/non-religious, interested in esoteric/metaphysical/spiritual concepts, members of the LGBTQ+ population, and people trying to reclaim their personal power after years of people pleasing.

  • I commonly work with clients who are experiencing:

    • Anxiety or overthinking

    • Low self-esteem or self-worth

    • Heavy emotions, such as, shame and guilt

    • Difficulty regulating emotions

    • People pleasing tendencies

    • Life transitions

    • Existential crises

    • Religious wounds or traumas

    • Self-sabotage

    • Feeling lost or stuck

    • Fight or flight reactions

  • Unfortunately, there are no guaranteed outcomes when it comes to counseling and sometimes counseling may lead to unintended changes, such as, changes in relationship status, employment, or living situations. In general, we tend to get out of counseling what we put into it. The more time and energy you are willing to invest in yourself, the greater the return and the more likely you are to see progress.

    • The primary focus of the initial session is for us to get to know each other and determine whether we will be a good fit working together. We will discuss the issue/s that prompted you to seek counseling, your history, and your goals for counseling during this session.

    • During ongoing sessions, we will be digging deeper into your psyche and subconscious. This is where we can identify problematic thinking patterns and unhelpful beliefs so that we can reframe and release what is not benefiting you.

  • Currently, I am only in network with BCBS, United/UMR, and Cigna/Evernorth; however, I am undergoing the process of terminating these contracts. After my contracts are terminated, I will no longer be able to accept insurance or submit claims on your behalf. If you have insurance with out of network (OON) benefits, you will still be able to use this for my services. In this case, I will issue you a superbill (a fancy invoice required to submit a claim) that you can use to submit your claim to your insurance company for reimbursement. Your insurance company will walk you through the process of submitting your claims. Please see below for the exact date of my contract termination with each company:

    • BCBS: June 16, 2025

    • United/UMR: To Be Determined

    • Cigna/Evernorth: To Be Determined

  • If I am in network with your insurance company and filing claims on your behalf, then yes, a diagnosis will be required. If you are a private pay client, no diagnosis is required in order for you to attend counseling.

I look forward to connecting with you!
